performance art, a time-based art form that typically features a live presentation to an audience or to onlookers (as on a street) and draws on such arts as acting, poetry, music, dance, and painting. It is generally an event rather than an artifact, by nature ephemeral, though it is often recorded on video and by means of still photography.
Through photography, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many talented individuals—each driven to share their artistic vision. Theatre, live music, low-budget film productions, dance—all pursued passionately, often on tight budgets, with countless hours of personal time sacrificed, and sometimes performed in front of small audiences. Yet, they remain authentically motivated by a deep love for art.
